Happy Birthday John and James!
Several years ago today, there were twin brothers born in Oceanside, California. They were delivered 22 minutes apart. They used to dress alike, look alike and shared most everything in common. Today we celebrate with these twins who have grown to be great men. John and James, on behalf of Sharee, Chrissy and all of your beautiful children, we love you and are thankful for the opportunity to know you both. Happy Birthday!

Happy 70th Dad – The Music, The Message, The Man
Blog / 42 commentsFor the past 20 years, we’ve had the privilege to share our music with so many of you. As we’ve traveled the world it has become distinctly evident to us that “The Message” in the “The Music “ is a powerful combination. We have literally seen lives changed, communities restored, brokenness healed, and so many other miracles right before our eyes. None of this would be possible had it not been for the saving grace of Jesus through the life of “The Man” who started it all.
Today we’d like to honor that Man.
Dad, as you celebrate 70 years of life, we want you to know how proud we are of you. We love telling your story wherever we go. It’s a story of redemption that has blessed thousands. Your faith in God and love for people inspires us everyday to keep pressing on. Your discipline and drive has taught us to be excellent in whatever we do. Your trust and dedication to God’s word reminds us constantly to be “doers” and not just “hearers”.
You were a good Marine. You planted a church even when you weren’t the Pastor. You witnessed to anyone that would listen and many of those people are now leaders in their churches. You helped so many young people discover their love for music. You took steps of faith time and time again. You taught us how to lead and instilled a work ethic in all of us. You taught us to be men and to never to give up. You told us that humility and fear of the Lord would keep our families and us well. You’ve been a loyal Pastor for the last 30 years. You took the little that was given to you and dedicated it back to God. You loved Mom faithfully until death. That alone has impacted us more than you can imagine. Above all, you’ve been a great Dad.
We hope that the next years of your life will bring more joy and fulfillment than you’ve ever imagined. May you continue to experience the goodness of the Lord as you live your greatest days yet!
We love you!
Your sons and daughters

Here comes the BEST!
Blog / 12 commentsI remember as a little kid anticipating the New Year. We would have a “Watch Night” service from 10 PM to midnight. Every family in our little church would sing a song and share their excitement for the New Year. We’d hear the fire works off in the distance and the deacons were constantly checking their watches. Our Dad would preach a motivating sermon while we all tried our best to stay awake. It seemed like no matter how successful we were in building the anticipation for the countdown, once the clock struck midnight it was normally a bit anticlimactic. January 1st would arrive and then we’d be on to the next year.
It seems like the older I get, I’m a little more sentimental. I guess I’m actually starting to realize that each year is truly a gift. Not one is guaranteed. As we enter 2-0-1-0, (just looking at those four digits is surreal) I am filled with hope and great expectations. I truly believe that we are living in the greatest time ever known to man. I know that in God, the “BEST” is always yet to come. He promises to be with us no matter what we will face. (Matthew 28:20) There are great challenges that are waiting for us ahead. We don’t have to face them alone. There are problems that need to be solved. You and I have the answer. People are fearful of what tomorrow may bring. It’s our responsibility to give them the hope the lives in us. Tell them the good news. Show them by how you live. Heal them with the love that you give. Remind them that because of Jesus and what He’s already done, “The BEST is yet to come”!
Happy New Year!

Talofa (Hello) From Samoa!
Blog / 4 commentsTalofa (Hello) from Samoa! Finally, we made it to Samoa for the much anticipated Katina Missions trip, and we have certainly seen God’s hand at work here in the islands. We have arrived in American Samoa and have even visited the neighboring island nation of Western Samoa, where the tsunami hit especially hard. The Katinas have distributed food, shelter kits, household kits to affected families, and have contributed monetarily to the efforts of Samaritan’s Purse and Kelly Duininck Ministries (RHEMA) as well. The Samoan people were very grateful for the provisions, but we understand that this is a going to be a long-term recovery process.
Besides delivering much needed supplies, last night we held a much anticipated outreach concert in American Samoa, bringing the message of “Hope For Samoa” to our people. It was received with enthusiasm and gratitude! Tonight will be a concert angled toward the youth of Samoa, in an effort to inspire even after such devastation. We could tell from last night’s concert that joy has begun to emerge after such a time of sorrow.
The Katinas and Katina Missions would like to thank EVERY PERSON and EVERY ORGANIZATION who has given so generously to this disaster relief. Thank you for helping us at Katina Missions reach our island nation with the love of Jesus Christ. Fa’afetai tele! -The Katinas
