Worship God Our Maker

Psalms 95:6-7
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker: For he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

As I write this, we are getting ready to head home from the Philippines. It will be great to see our families. However, last 72 hours have been very emotional to say the least. The Filipino people are very loving, hospitable and kind. The country is amazing. Yet, the poverty here is somewhat overwhelming. I’m reminded that I have no right to ever complain about anything.

I’ll always remember this great country and it’s beautiful people because of the way they worship God. In the midst of the economic struggles, corruption and lack that many of them are experiencing, their passion in worshipping Jesus is so refreshing. They understand that God is their maker and that they are to worship Him.

I wish you could see what we’ve seen these past 3 days. I hope that some day our kids could see what it means to have so little, yet be so in love with God not for what He can give but for who He is! One thing these people have learned is that no matter what, God is good! HE is our Maker and we are the people of HIS pasture. Yes, times can get hard and things will become difficult. But remember, He is God and we were created to worship Him. If He never does anything else for us again, He’s already done so much more than we deserve. It’s His nature to be good and to do good things for us. We’re His children and He loves us beyond what we can ever understand.

He’s done and will continue to do His part. Let us do ours….Come, bow down and worship Him. It’s for your own good!

Congratulations for a successful and anointed concert! Praise be to God! it was really nice to finally meet you guys. I have been waiting for soooooooooooo long for you to visit us here in the Philippines. I really admire your passion for music and how you use your talents to spread God’s unfailing love for everybody. I am a worship leader in our church and we often sing your songs in our worship services and youth camps.

I’m just kinda sad i did not get to see any part of your show though; I just came from an anniversary celebration of a chapter of our church Jesus Is Lord(JIL) in Pampanga. And I even sang one of your songs “One More Time” there! It’s a two-hour drive from Pampanga to Manila. We were driving real fast, almost making our car fly just to make it in time to see your worship concert but alas we were too late when we arrived. But at least I got to meet you and got your autographs. :-)

I really hope and pray you would visit us again here in the Philippines. i will make sure i get to watch you guys this time. i’d even reserve a ticket now!

I pray for God’s traveling mercy be upon you guys as you travel to your next tour destinations. May God bless you and your families abundantly! Keep on rockin’ for the Rock of our salvation!

    Hi guys,

I’m from the Philippines but I live in CA. I read your blog and I was touched at your appreciation for the country. You’re correct about the poverty, and everytime I visit, I come back home more appreciative of what I have.

I saw you guys lead worship at the Rock (San Diego) and you guys are amazing. Keep up the great work! God bless!

    Love In Christ,
    Hazel

Amen. I think that’s pretty much the crux of this life we live. In fact, this past Sunday I spoke to the jr highers about living a life of thanks and worship unto the Lord… and even added that very phrase: “If God never does another thing for us… He is still God and worthy of our praise”. Sometimes we need to our mindset and perspectives to be put into check … hehe just a lil bit sometimes ;) But amen, God is so good! I know He totally moved!

Hello to our Filipino family! We finally made it home to Nashville after 27 hrs of flying. We are still overwhelmed with the amazing welcome that we received in Manila. Thank you all for making us feel at home and know that we are already talking about our next trip to your beautiful country. Until then, we love you all and remember that Jesus is worthy of our Worship. Astig Kayo!

it was one experience that i will never ever forget.

i’ve been to many concerts but that night was different…i did not experience concert, but a ministry. thanks so much for ministering to us.

i remember asking my eldest sister (who organizes events) if she can try to bring the katinas here in manila and that was i think 5 years ago, and i’ve been asking her every year. until last august or september that she mentioned to me that katinas will be coming to manila…my excitement never died-down.

of all the concerts that i’ve attended…that night was the B-E-S-T. i was so amazed on how the Holy Spirit moved…the musicality, the talents, the songs…it’s given, it’s there already…but what i saw was the heart of ministers…willing to give, open to love and passionate to share.

i can almost hear God saying: “well done, my good and faithful servants”

thanks guys. i fell in love with your songs and your lifestyle. i was so moved by your ministry.

i will never forget how good your hearts are.

God bless you and your entire family.

still, i will be waiting for you here in manila.
(and hopefully next time i’ll get to have some pictures with you…hehehe)

keeping you guys in my prayers.

Ain’t that the truth- My heart sings with you to read your words “I hope that some day our kids could see what it means to have so little, yet be so in love with God not for what He can give but for who He is!” In my one excursion to the developing world, I so desperately wanted to be able to show my kids what I experienced— I pray that the church in America, great as it is, would be more open to learning lessons of faith, worship, and passion from other Christians worldwide…

  • James

    Matt, great word.

  • Krish

My prayer is that every single SOUL in this world will ROCK for JESUS!

Thank you Katinas :) All the children of God are ASTIG!

That’s really cool that you all visited my homeland. Born in Virgina and raised in California, it’s heart wrenching to see the massive poverty when I last visited there (when I was 16 yrs old). I ask God to convict me of taking evrything for granted- especially a washer * dryer, hot & cold faucets, and a real toilet and good sewage system over heare compared to the open/expose dones in the Phil. God bless! One of my many favorite songs is “Tomorrow.” Jer 29:11
