The Power Of A Dream

dream

God has created each and everyone of us with a purpose. Often times, he reveals that purpose to us through dreams. When dreams come from God, they build us up and bring fulfillment to our lives. When we walk close to God and call upon him, we can know what dreams are from him.. Jer. 33:3 says, Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

Your dreams will enable you to achieve whatever your ultimate”Why” is in life. By the age of 25, most people lose their dreams and settle for an average life.

When we were kids growing up in the early 70′s, God put a dream in our hearts. One day we would travel all over the world and sing. We cut guitars out of cardboard and set Mom’s pots and pans on the couch. We would then invite our neighborhood friends over and put on a little concert for them. It’s truly amazing to think back to the beginning days of the dream that we’re still living today.

What dreams has God put in your heart? Have you lost sight of them because someone told you that they were insignificant or perhaps too far-fetched? May today be the beginning of a new season. Its not too late. When you gave your heart to Jesus, he gave you a dream and started a good work in you. Phil 1:6 says, that He will bring it to completion.

According to God’s power that is at work within us, He will do more than we ask, imagine or dream..Eph 3:20 . Keep dreaming!

Brother Sam, “Bless the Lord oh my soul & all that is within me Bless His Holy Name”. Bless you for the Word spoken through you for all of us this day and week to meditate, chew and walk in it! So true, inspiring and delivering his Word. God’s power His Spirit at work in us, does what he says..”He will do more than we ask, imagine, or dream.” My life with Jesus, has been just that beyond what I could ever ask, imagine or dream. Thank you again for the reminder and encouragement to all of us to keep dreaming, as I still am and it only gets better & better. Yes, you will have times in your life where the seas get real rough, trials do come but truly when Jesus is in your heart, it always works for our good. It helps us grow, the pruning season, like the master chiseling away making, shaping, & forming you to become more like Him, to be used for His glory & kingdom purposes. He is the Dream giver, and we his children are the Dream livers. So press on Kuzins all whom the Lord has had visit up in here or following along with us weekly or daily. It’s no surprise to Him your in this website…it’s ordained and totally a God thing for you personally. He meets you right where you are at. So welcome on board in Jesus name, and join us as we Dream the dream God has put into all of our hearts from even youth that this day today you can begin to “LIVE THAT DREAM IN JESUS NAME”! “He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it. Phil 1:6
    Jesus loves you! :-)

Thank you for doing this series on dreams. These past years I have lost what my dreams were and in some way I became frightened of what my dreams are. After walking away from God and coming back, I had many dreams of what I wanted to do with my life. Right now I am re-discovering my dreams and the why in my life.
The devotions that you have been posting have made an impact in that they have come during a time when my life is in turmoil and I have lost focus. The devotions have helped to regain my focus in that they have been pertaining to what I have been going through. I hope that you keep up the devotions. I know for me they have been helpful and very much appreciated.

Praise Jesus, my brothers and sisters! Sam, Thank you for this wonderful message. It is really inspiring and it is so touching how the Lord has really blessed you and brought you so far. I am so blessed by you all and can’t say it enough how thankful I am for what you are doing, with your songs, with the devotions, and especially with your love for your fans and the lost. I am reminded of the dream the Lord gave me years ago about serving him in a way I thought was impossible. But I will say that now you have also reminded that with us it is impossible, but with God all things are possible…if we just believe.

I have something to share with you all. It is a little clip of something I thought went along great with the topic of the Dream devotional. It is a little funny and lengthy, but if u stick it out it has a great message at the end. you have my permission to laugh…just keep in mind that I am a Sunday School teacher…

Praise God for His Word of encouragement spoken through you! I’m gonna keep on dreaming and believing because God is more than able to do what He has already set out to accomplish. Thank you for reminding me that His power is working within me. Yes, His power! I just need to get myself out of the way because He will do more than I can ask, imagine or dream. Hallelujah!!!

I have always been a dreamer & there has always been a dream in my heart. Not exactly something most people will reward you for. I know. When you get old, I mean older hehe, most people frown on a dreamer. They say its laziness or fantasy land behavior. And discourage you from wasting your time. But GOD encourages us all to ask HIM for visions and dreams. As earthly vessels we must protect our hearts and keep the dream alive. We are Kingdom Dreamers! We are authorized to dream. Who would take that away from you? Not GOD. And time is not an obstacle its your tool. Do you know that you can set aside time in your day to dream? Dreamers of the day are mighty, they plug in to what GOD has for them. They think impossible thoughts and envision amazing opportunities. Ask GOD to share HIS best with you, HE wants to.
In the 80′s, one of my favorite records was an album by Howard Jones called “Dream into Action.” The title track was not my favorite, at all. It wasn’t meant to be a hit. But there it was, a powerful message. “Dream into Action,” I never forgot that message. Take a step towards your dream today. Your dream may be closer than you think. “Fear not,” says the Lord. He will bless the works of your hands. Chances are your dream isn’t even about you. It is part of a greater picture, a master plan GOD has for us all.
Start with a smile, Be at peace & Go do it.

    Wow…another thought provoker…thanks Sam…

I used to dream alot. The older I get and the more
tired I am, sometimes I think that I don’t dream anymore.
And isn’t interesting that, when you dream, sometimes you
don’t remember all of it? Remember just parts of it? or maybe not at all…
It might not even be that I don’t have any more dreams.
It’s not that God doesn’t give me dreams or visions…
    maybe it’s that I’m just not listening…

When I think of ‘dreams’, I think of something that comes
to me in the night when I am asleep…when it doesn’t have to
be that at all…He gives it when he gives it, right.

The reminder for me is that God has total control.
    It’s involuntary for us.
Listening and being in tune with what God has in store for us is the key…
I want to be a KingdomDreamer and will remember to ask God
to grant me dreams and visions…

And hey there, Dawn…I’m a NJ girl, too! I grew up there.
    Now live in VA.

    God Bless you all…

Thanks Sam for the devotion.. it was powerful!!!

I’ll share some of what I heard at my church tonight..

God puts dreams in our hearts everyday.. some of us will act on those dreams to see them come true and some of us will sit on the God dream because we are to afraid to step out into something new with God. God saved you and He planted you in the world for a purpose filling dream.. now it’s your turn to take what He has planted in you and run with it. Be strong in your faith.. don’t be a surface Christian that’s just going to go half way with your walk.. but be a deep christian that isn’t afraid to go out and test the waters with your faith. Plan out a mission in your mind that tells you how you will live out your dream and then take ownership of the mission. When you complete the mission your faith in God will go deeper then you can ever see it on the top of the water. Live your dream big.. live it out so when you complete the dream you will shine even more in God’s eyes..

Our mission as Christians is to tell people about our God.. when you tell people about our God make sure it rocks the world and is exploding with faith.

    Romans 11:36
For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.

    God Bless,
    Elizabeth

Thanks Sam for sharing. Great start to this series. I’m really looking forward to this entire series! Thanks again, such a blessing and thought-provoking! -Lizzerd

  • Faith

I agree with everyone else, this is a great series. Esp. right now when it seems like so many dreams are being struck down by this economy.
I also have a question. How do we know if the dreams we have are from God or from our own selfish desires?

  • Lizzerd

    Hi Faith,

In response to your question about “How do we know if the dreams we have are from God?” Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way from others that I have applied to my life and have seen help me over the years. I hope these might be of some help to you too! :)

    1. Pray about it from the beginning, wait on God, don’t rush into anything. Also, if you start to persue something, pray about it every step of the process, ask for God’s confirmation and guidance.

    2. If you have a mentor in your life, share your dream with your mentor, ask her to pray along side you. A mentor or even a friend you trust/respect can aid as confirmation either way. You might ask yourself, “Am I sensing the same thing this person is saying to me? Does this seem right?”

    3. I recently heard a pastor I respect talking about knowing if a dream is from God or personal desire only…This pastor said something very close to the following:
“If you have a dream/a passion for something specific, pray about it. One way to know it’s likely from God, is if you put the dream aside, completely let go of it, but the dream doesn’t let go of you. In other words, if you are seeking God/praying about it and it just seems to keep coming back to you(i.e. perhaps several verses through preaching or quiet time that seem to keep coming up that all say the same thing; friends/mentors saying the same thing, especially if they don’t know about the dream and they mention something; perhaps you have a physical dream at night and you keep having the same occuring dream over and over). If this is happening, more than likely this is a God dream, a dream God has planted in you.”

Hope you maybe found this helpful.

    Be Blessed.

  • James

Faith, good question. There’s a passage in the bible that says “He will grant you the desires of your heart according to His will. If you have a dream that ultimately, glorifies God, then that dream is of God. Keep dreaming

  • Sista RJ

Talofa, Aloha, Shalom, Greetins Kuzins: (Choo-hoo!) Can you tell me what day this is? I ask again, Tell me please Kuzins, “What day this is?” (it’s not trick question and for those of you who answered “This is the day the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it” That’s right Amen! (end of story) Ok, sharing with you what another Kuzin just called to ask me all the way from American Samoa. Yes, and praise, glory, honor and thanks that it took me two answers to get it right! (Praise God!) So here I am sharing with all ya our Kuzins Nation in Jesus name. For it is the right answer, the right mindset and frame to have at all times! Beloved Katina Brothers Kuzins, it was a Blessin as always to see you all and worship with u this Saturday at Kuzin Arthurs Funeral. Bro James, thanks for the words of wisdom to Sister Faith’s question. (You too Sister Lizzerd!) :-) Yes, indeed along these same lines sharing too is the dreams you know or even thoughts when we wonder if it’s God or us?, ask yourself does this bear God’s fruits of his Spirit as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23? What is of God is Spirit led, in the Spirit and always if not the Word itself it surely aligns with His Word! If it isn’t then it’s safe to say it’s probably our wretched flesh, the enemy or the world which are the 3 fooli-ohs! of our souls! (Can I get a witness?) The enemy comes to steal, kill & destroy..Our Savior, Our Lord & King, comes to give us life & life abundantly. So our dreams, look at Joseph with all his dreams, dreaming he did as a boy? It drove his brothers to feed that fleshly flesh an enemy not our fren and alas we have a mess, but look how God worked it out for Joseph and his entire family? (Dad, Brothers and his people?) Who would of thought? This is some cool out of sight, out of this world bigness-biznes only our Abba Father can do!) So whether your a Martin Luther King, or put in your own name now which you are a son/daughter a prince or princess of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! (What other title is there?) That’s right, so we give all glory to God we thank him for giving us each our dream/dreams for his glory, and kingdom purposes and that even if you didn’t know, well now you know you can know because all you have to do is ask him? Lord, what is your dream for me, what is it early on in my life that I have aspired to do but somehow my circumstances or discouragement, my flesh, the enemy, or the world has come to steal, kill & destroy this dream or dreams you have put in my heart? “Ask you shall recieve, seek you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened.” Kuzins, remember GOD DREAMS BIG DREAMS FOR YOU! You are an overcomer! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Choose today if not already make that choice to believe God, hang on to God no matter what…your faith in God hang on to God! and stay Focused! B4 you know it you will be “LIVIN THE DREAM, IN JESUS NAME”! Now march on this week and know that you are the head and not the tail and not only are you dreamin the dreams God gave you, but your now walkin and livin it out and oh what FREEDOM IS THAT! If the Son of God has set you FREE..you are FREE indeed!

  • Faith

I just wrote back to tell ya’ll thanks for the answers. They were inspiring and insightful. Appreciate it!:)

God gave me a dream in my heart that my husband and I would serve the Lord and raise our children in the same way. My husband accepted the Lord, but he is still not able to be with the kids and I. I am holding on to the promises of God from the verses that you are all sharing me. What more can I do to live my dream? I am waiting on the Lord and I want to live my dream…to have happiness with my family. I feel like part of me is dead inside, my heart aches so much and I don’t know what else to do. I am praying and seeking him every day. Is there something I am not doing? I feel like my husband will be returned to me, but nothing has happened. I know nothing is impossible for God, I have faith but it’s hard to hope when it seems that God is silent. I do want to be positive all the time, I do. But, even as I write this I have tears streaming down my face in sadness. I want to be happy and joyful and know that God wants me to live my dream. Please tell me what I’m missing. Thank you

    Dear Sister Stephanie,

I could not help but take time to comment on your situation. I know what you are going through because I’ve gone through this very thing. I got married to my husband shortly after I accepted Jesus into my life (9 yrs ago) and I thought since he also started living for the Lord that we would serve Him together, but I was wrong, We had a son who was a yr old before we decided to make things right and get married. He was 2 and I was pregnant with our 2nd child when my husband decided he could not handle the pressures of a family and left. It might have been the hardest thing I had gone through. I had no family besides the Heavenly Father and the church. I felt so lonely at times and I thought it was just not going to get better. I would cry so hard to the Lord everynight. I didn’t think I could handle the pressures of being a mom and dad and serve the Lord to. It is hard to lose someone you love, and somethimes it hurts so much that you just want instant healing for your pain, an instant replacement for what you lost or missing. But God does not always work that way.

Jesus would never leave us nor forsake us. People will, but the Lord would never leave you…even in the times when all we hear is silence.
The Lord knows how real your pain is…that is why he is taking this time to begin your healing. Right now He wants you to cry to him, to keep seeking Him because He is, little by little, emptying you of all the hurt so that He may fill you with His love and strength so that you will have what you need. It is in our times of lonlienss and silence that we can hear the Lord. When we are feeling loved and satisfied we sometimes don’t feel we need him or maybe we feel we have all we need for that moment. The Lord knows what you need.

The Lord says in His word that a woman who is married cares for how she may please her husband, but a woman who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord and how she may please Him. It is not that he will not fulfil your dream and unite your family- it is that in this time He wants all of you. Let Him be your husband right now, let him be your stand-in. The Lord,I know without doubt, has heard your prayers and is working on your husband…you will see that when the Lord works it out for you, it is for the best.

Stay encouraged, and remember that you are not alone. Keep clinging to him and seeking his comfort. Keep surrounding yourself with Godly friends and family. Get involved in church and in time you will see that the Lord has brought you along way. Here is my email address just in case you want someone to listen and relate to what you are going through…earlylight333@yahoo.com

    In my prayers,
    Sister Dawn

  • Sista RJ

Sister Steph, we love you and are keeping you in our prayers. I just read Sister Dawns words of wisdom to you. May you be ever so blessed by it. God bless you n as you continue to cry out to Him, and listen to worship songs amidst this all like birds singing in the night, you will be too. Through the dark & rough times your going through right now may your worship & praise to God be all that you know to do. When He gets you through this and He will he is with you even now…you will be able to sing and share in the light to someone else who may experience going through what you are enduring now. “I waited for the Lord on High, I waited and he heard my cry”. He pulled me out of my despair and showed me where to walk, from fear into security, from quicksand to the Rock. I waited for the Lord on high, I waited and He heard my cry. I’ll sing to let the people know, that I have been restored, and they will kneel and understand, to return and trust in the Lord.(This is a song sharing with you)

God bless you dear Sister Steph, and bless all of you Kuzins!

    Stephanie,,

It’s so great that you are taking slow steps in loving our God. We need to have our hearts filled with Gods love and nothing else. Steph know that God loves you so much more then you already know. He is cheering you on to the best life that you can live. He has His love wrapped around you.Take what God has put in your heart and run with it with everything that you have!!!

    Philippians 3:12-14
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

    Blessings,,
