For the past several months, countless members of churches from all around the Greater Southern California area went through great lengths to get the word out about an event called “Harvest 09”. This was unlike any Harvest event in the past. Afterall, the ministry that was founded by Pastor Greg Laurie was celebrating it’s 20th anniversary. We were once again honored to be a part of this outreach and were amazed to realize that we have been playing at these events for the last 12 years. For three consecutive nights, a total of 126,000 people packed out Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA.
We shared the stage with other bands like Third Day, Relient K, Skillet, Crystal Lewis and Chris Tomlin. The lights were bright, the sound was blaring, and our friend Greg Laurie packed and delivered the Gospel message with convicting power and love. The end result was an overwhelming response as 11,969 people received Christ into their hearts. There was no way that we could compete with the kind of party that was being thrown in Heaven.
However, we did make an attempt on the last night by a display of fireworks as Chris Tomlin and his band played into the open air. If you want to see a recap of the event, go to harvest.org.
