Devastation In Samoa

samoa_2

Devastation {Our beloved island of American Samoa gets hit by tsunami}

As many of you may or may not know, American Samoa and Samoa were devastated by an earthquake and tsnuami around 7am local time on September 29, 2009 . Facts are still coming in but there are now reports of over 80 dead and dozens more missing with entire villages flattened. For the past nine months we have been planning our third annual missions trip back to Samoa for this coming November. It is very clear to us now what our mission is.

We have received many calls, texts and emails asking how to help. A relief fund is currently being set up through www.katinamissions.org

CLICK on “Missions” at the top of this page to donate. All donations small or large, are tax deductible.

Thank you for standing with us. Please continue to pray for Samoa

You touch soo many lives and many love you!!! We are on our knees praying for a revival, restoration, strength, comfort and unity! May He pour out His mercy and grace and do a mighty outreach to the lost! I pray they cry out to You alone Lord, rather than the world!
Be strong, you are loved!!!! Then they will come to Me and pray and I will listen. Jer 29:12

Hey K5, Just know that all of us all over the world are supporting you, praying for you, for your families and everyone and everything going on in Samoa. For all of you reading this website, if you will forward this news to everyone you know and they forward to everyone, I know we can raise some serious donations for the cause and make the Lord’s presence known in a mighty way with all of our prayer. Let’s spread the word…and The Word! God bless you Katinas for all the lives you’ve touched in your ministry.

The moment I heard only a couple of hrs after the earthquake in Samoa, I had to call home right away to check up on my folks (parents, siblings – everyone I know). It took a long time for me to get through to the network connection because apparently, the weather was tampering with the lines. However, I believe that God allowed 2 phone calls for me to reach a close friend and finally, my parents through their cell phone while they were heading up to the Aloau mountains. God is faithful no matter what casualties has occurred! He did not allow the tsunami any destructive damages and as long as our faith in Him remained intact during the process – he never left our families. Our hearts go out to the “aigas” whose families have passed away…God’s Spirit comfort, console, and lift you up through the pain & suffering that is temporary. Thank you so much Katinas for the relief fund for our families! God bless you all and I will help out as much as I can! Amen!

    Hello Katinas and Zander,
Look forward to continuing to work with you to provide guidance, strategic planning, and other professional services as we try to quickly assist the disaster victims and your home in American Samoa. It is my hope that many people continue to contact you to offer prayers, financial donations, and volunteer assistance. Our world is full of talent and people with Wonderful Gifts from God. Now, and in the future, your islands and great people will need incredible help — spiritually, physically, financially, emotionally, etc.
In August/September 2009, we just reached the four year anniversary and continue our healing from the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita – in the Gulf Coast region! As a recommendation, we might develop a similar Blog site or other online tool to coordinate the volunteer resources that are being offered to you and Katina Missions.
Love you all — You are such an inspiration and blessing!!
    Your friend In Christ,
    Cathy

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Its been a very hard and tragic past few days. This is the first time I’ve actually just sat here and write about the events that have unfolded within our Homeland Samoa. My heart is deeply sadden but at the same time, I believe and know that GOD IS BIGGER and BETTER than anything that may come our way. I get so teary eye watching videos and seeing pictures of loved ones who passed away these past few days. I believe this is one of the many signs warning us of his coming!! LORD I WANT TO BE READY!! It was definitely a wake up call for me and my life. It also made me realize how big of a heart and so much love our samoan people have for eachother. I don’t even know if i’m making any sense right now because lately I just have not been thinking right. I’m continually praying for each and everyone of our KUZINS as well as our SAMOAN people. I thank you K5 and everyone working behind scenes for HOPE 4 SAMOA.. remember you have wonderful KUZINS here in Seattle that are always here for you guys!!! holler mai!!!

    GOD BLESS n MUCH ALOFAS

Man, my aunt and cuzs were almost hit by that. Super scary and a moment for super prayer. Wish I could have done something to help, but living in Alaska doesnt help much. Oh well, God has that one covered.
