Update From The Wives

Hey Everyone! This is Chrissy (James’ wife). We are having such a great time with our guys! This type of opportunity does not come around very often so when it does we jump on it! For me, it was exciting to be on a bus again. Traveling with ZOEgirl, we often took the bus and I enjoyed sleeping on it- I get some of the best sleep in those bunks! Kathi woke up in the morning, not as chipper as she usually is. Her exact words were “I didn’t sleep a wink”. It does take some getting used to…. About 15 minutes from our destination, the bus began acting up and before we knew it, we found ourselves at a large bus repair shop!

In the end, it wasn’t anything major, but it did cause a slight delay in our schedule. We spent the afternoon preparing for the evening’s event, where we would be interviewed on stage. I had a few last minute changes to my outfit so I hit the mall with Jessica. Sharee, Lori and Kathi opted to work up a sweat at the hotel gym for a while. Everyone was ready to go by dinnertime.

The evening was great and despite some nerves, the interview with the wives went off without a hitch! I also think the guys kind of enjoyed seeing us up there, in their places :) One thing I love about my sisters is that we are a team, just as the guys are. We work well together, as we feed off of each other’s individual strengths. Tonight was one of those nights that only confirmed that more in my heart. We are back at it again tomorrow and then…..NY, NY here we come!!

Let us know if you have any questions for us. We’d love to hear from you!

I am so glad that God led me The Katinas. I can feel you have strong family values and that is so important in today’s problems. Not only did you, The Katinas, brought me closer to the Lord through your music, it made me a better prson. You are so lucky to have a close, loving family. You brothers are very lucky to find wives who support youin all your travels. Bless you, your wives and your children.

A question for the wives…hhmmm I’m thinking. Ok I have one. Which couple has been married the longest? Which wife got married the youngest and who is she married to?

I was married at 19 (wow!) and we’re still married, only by God’s grace & mercy to be sure, for 28 years. The last 8 have been the BEST! (We weren’t saved when we got married. Both saved in 1998)

Thanks for writing to us ladies. It’s very sweet of you. I was an only child so I have no clue what it’s like to have all those/any brothers and the closeness that you 5 ladies seem to have even though you’re not related. LOL Neat.

Thanks for sharing in your husbands’ ministry ladies…I’m very aware that without your love, support and prayers they wouldn’t be as wonderful as they are. Amen!

I pray for safety and that you don’t miss your children TOO much while your away.

Thanks Chrissy for sharing your view of The Katinas life. Seems like you women have a great time with your husband too. I will pray that you still have a safe trip and that many will be blessed and feel the love from God through you!
I wished I could be in US and attend to one of The Katinas Christmas concert :)
Thanks again Chrissy, God bless you and your big amazing familiy.

    With love from Norway

I’m so excited for you all to have this precious time w/ your hubby’s as well as each other w/o your children. You ladies are amazing women of God. You all have the hardest jobs: raising up the next generation who have their hearts and eyes on the Lord. Praise the Lord for you all and also that the Lord has given you a bond w/ each other while the guys travel. May God continue to bless you all and the ministries both home & on the road! Being good friends w/ Kathi’s sister, I have watched you all from afar for many years and time has shown the realness of who you and your families are and the integrity that is there. We continue to pray for you all. Have fun in NYC!!

I wish that just once I can experience a road trip like that! LOL To be with all my sisters and brothers/husbands on tour. No worries about the kids! Even though I would miss them so much. Oh man!! What a blessing that would be! You mentioned that this doesnt happen often. So what does it take to be able to go on tour with the guys?

I bless you all and hope to see more blogs and more pictures in the next few days! Thank you so much for sharing!

    Hey there Wives!

What a fun idea to hear from you!

Besides Chrissy, do any of the other wives sing? It’d be cool to see some sort of video of K5 Wives practicing some song or something! ha! Seriously though, what hobbies do you gals have?

  • Chrissy Katina

Thank you all for the comments! We are having a blast!

LELLA- I don’t know if any video of the interview was taken. I would love to see it as well though!

NINA- It takes a ton of planning on both ends- The guys need to make a lot of extra travel arrangements to make it work. We also need to make sure our kids are taken care of at home with babysitters and that transportation is available for everyone at home for school/events etc. Some of us wives have jobs that need to be worked around as well, so there is a lot of things that must fall in place in order for this to happen. Once everything is set though, it is totally worth it all!

DEBBIE- Kathi and Sam have been married the longest – 19 years. Jessica was the youngest to get married. She married Jesse when she was 23 years old. Congrats on 23 years! That wonderful!

POKINATCHA- There was a little singing going on here and there in middle school choir for the other ladies but other than that, singing in the shower is about as far as they like to venture out. :)
